Virginia L. McCabe, age 94, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010, at the Sarah A. Reed Retirement Center.

Born in Erie on September 2, 1915, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Henrietta (DuShole) Lindstrom. Virginia had been a sales clerk at the Boston Store, Pulakos Candies and Sears. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, where she was active in Girl Scouting, and was also a member of the Siebenbuerger Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. McCabe in 2002, and a daughter, Pennylou Watkins.

Survivors include a son, Dennis L. McCabe, wife Mary Ann, of Louisville, KY; three grandchildren, Sharon R. Young, husband Roger, of McKean, Kim L. Mrozowski, husband Greg, of Erie, and Dean A. Watkins, wife Bonnie, of Erie; 9 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.

Friends are invited to call at Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th at Greengarden, Monday from 9:30 am until the time of services at 11:30 am with Rev. John Detisch officiating. Private burial will follow.
