Clifton "Cliff" R. Carlin, age 78, of Erie, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July, 10, 2010. Born in Erie April 8, 1932 he was the son of the late Clifton L. and Helen Culhane Carlin. |

Cliff graduated from Cathedral Prep in 1949 and then went on to graduate from the General Electric Apprentice Program. He was a proud member of the United States Army serving in France from 1954 to 1956. Upon returning to Erie he continued working at General Electric as a manufacturing engineer for 36 years until his retirement in 1985.
He was a lifetime member of St. John the Baptist Church, the Siebenbuerger Club, and the General Electric Exempt Retirees (GEER). Cliff was a man that adored his grandchildren. He was always around to lend a helping hand or at the very least some of his advice. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Lois Carlin and a brother-in-law, Raymond Shade. Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Ann Concilla Carlin; 6 daughters, Barbara DiSanti, husband Jim, Donna Marie Bench, husband Ron, Cindy Behringer, husband Urban, Mary Beth Gregory, husband Dennis, Lisa Faulkner, husband J.D., and Michelle Leubin, husband Matt; a son, Michael R. Carlin, wife Ann, all of Erie; 15 grandchildren, Andrea, Nicholas, Kevin, Brandon, Brian, Andrew, Emily, Ryan, Alicia, Joshua, Zack, Trevor, Austin, Abigail, and Connor; a brother, Norman Carlin, wife Ginger; a sister, Doris Shade, and many lifelong friends. Friends may call on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the A. Brugger & Sons Funeral Home, 845 East 38th Street at Pine Avenue. Services will be held there on Wednesday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Baptist Church at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Gregory Cemetery with full military honors. |

Cliff's family would like to thank the staff and doctors at Emergycare, the Congestive Heart Failure Clinic at St. Vincent Health Center, and the people who work in the emergency room there for all of their care and concern over the years.
