Eleanor Grace (Kitty) Walters, 84 of Erie formerly of Sugar Grove, Pa. passed away unexpectedly on July 9,2010 at her residence. She was born April 10th, 1926 in Martinsburg Pa, the daughter of the late Catherine Ebersole. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Naomi Pearl and Ranson Ebersole.
She and her husband were known as “Kitty Lou” and “Bobby Dean”, country-recording artists in the 60s appearing at the Wheeling Jamboree, Ernest Tubb Record Shop and the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. They owned and operated the Riverside Hotel, renamed the Continental Hotel in Warren, Pa. |

Kitty enjoyed her cherished pets, the late Chihuahua “Petie” and her Shorkie “Petie2”. She was a very gracious lady who was loved by all who met her. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was a long-time member of the Warren Church of Christ and an active volunteer of the Sugar Grove Senior Center. Kitty was a member of the Erie Church Of Christ. Besides her mother and grandparents, Kitty was preceded in death by her stepfather John Zitsch and her brother John Zitsch. Survivors include her beloved husband of 63 years, Robert D Walters Sr.; two sons, Thomas H. Hite, (Gemma), Morristown, TN and Robert D. Walters Jr. (Ellen), Erie; two daughters, Shelley Y . Chicas (Alfonso) and Rhonda S. Hughes, of Houston Texas ; 14 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren, a sister, Jane Robbins of New Jersey and her brother Robert Zitsch of Louisiana survives. Friends may call Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, 10:30 to 1130 a.m. at the Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th St. A funeral service will be held there Wednesday at 11:30am with Randy Matheny and Gale Thornton co-officiating. Interment Laurel Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Erie Church of Christ Golden Years Program in lieu of flowers 2317 West Grandview Blvd. 16506. |
