I was very sad to hear about Gerry's death. I am a retired IRS Appeals Officer who made many visits to the IRS Erie office when Gerry was the manager there. My impression was that he was a very dedicated employee who always wanted to excel and do his best. He was a huge asset to the Federal Government and served as an example to all of us. I go to Naples, Fl, in the winter months and while I was there I often wondered if I would see him. I think about him often.

I had the privilege of working with Gerry Garcia. He was one of the most knowledgeable tax professionals that I have ever met, and I certainly learned much from him. Gerry's work ethic and his reminder to colleagues to take pride in their work was an influence that carried on in his old office long after he retired.
